    fire fire

A tremendous fire has been burning in the Boundary Waters now for two weeks, 30,000 acres. It’s hard to realize how much land that is from reading the local newspaper, which I flip through in the morning while eating my breakfast. But here’s the smoke drifting from northern MN southeast, across Lake Superior and finally dissipating over Wisconsin. My seat of the pants estimation (with help from google) is that smoke trail is 150mi long.

That’s a lot of smoke. More Images.
