The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

    Mark Haddon

Told from the point of view of a fifteen year old autistic, I was disappointed when I found out the author was neither 15 years old, nor was he autistic. I think it’s fascinating that there are people who can do such an amazing amount of brain push ups and yet not even deal with other people.

I just can’t imagine having that kind of brainpower, I’ve always wished I could focus myself as completely as Boone says he does. Sometimes I really can be so singular, I particularly resonate with Boones tendency to take awhile to get used to my surroundings in silently observing them. But to me it’s a pleasurable experience, not an unbearable one.

The book gives an interesting perspective at points, but it was ruined for me as soon as I learned it wasn’t genuinely authored. I had thought Mark Haddon was the autistic protagonist. I was looking for the real thing, I couldn’t wait to get into the head of such a person. These articles around the internet were just as interesting.
