    Make Volume 3

Great magazine, good read. I felt like this one was longer then the last two, and it is. By two pages. Needle in a haystack, huh? Just margin notes and page references to things I found interesting.

Tim O’Reilly’s News from the future column is always an interesting look at where technology is headed. 15

Living out of a canoe in florida sure sounds fun, and that’s what Tim Anderson has been doing for the past few months. With solar panels and a laptop! One of my dreams for awhile now has been to high tail it somewhere like the Appalachian or Pacific Crest Trail for a year, but with requisite bits of technology (like a laptop and internet connection). This guy has it down. 36

There’s a whole section on hacking your car, the neatest bit was the stompbox tutorial getting printed. Detailed step by step with photos, but kind of a letdown that there wasn’t anything new and I’d already read it. 60

Ever wanted to try out KAP? I have, but no way am I trusting my digital camera to whatever I can rig up to fly. But who knew it was this easy to interface a $10 ‘disposable’ digital camera with your computer (just take it apart and solder four wires to the circuit board)? 130

Primer on reading and drawing schematics, I never learned more then wire battery and resistor in physics class. 151

The make digital edition looks interesting, but there isn’t a thing there yet. 185
