A very interesting look at human technology interaction and what it may become in the future. I’m looking to call a lot of what Clark describes postmodern technologies, where technology is moving away from large and arcane solutions (like mainframes, or desktops) and into small encapsulated inter-communicating devices. Clark describes changes happening now and how a future human technological bond would look.

    • Clark illustrates the idea of tangible interfaces with an example answering machine, one which uses a jar of marbles to tangibly track messages left to the user. Each new message is assigned to a marble, which is then used to manipulate the message. Put the message into a depression in the machine and it will play, throw it back into the jar and it’s erased. 49
    • Netfuture, an online emerging technology journal, is pointed out by clark and looks quite interesting. 181
