    More Mike Gravel

You can never go wrong by questioning authority because then they have to respond, and if they’ve got no response, they don’t deserve any authority.

We have a structure of representative government that is designed to keep us in civic adolescence. Now how can you grow up if you don’t take responsibility? And so the initiative is a way to take human beings and force them to grow up. They’ll make mistakes, but they’ll also have the power to correct them, which is not what happens in representative government.

Both from this talk with Mike at Google. And I know that he’ll never be our president, the US is far too fucked up for that. But if only he were. Maybe a Mike Gravel/Ron Paul Independent ticket. Because the bad guys are gonna steal the election anyway. I might as well vote my honest to god conscience before I flee the country in disgust.

    (Gravel even uses a mac)
